UHMWPE ?
Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a specialized type of thermoplastic polyethylene with exceptionally long polymer chains, typically ranging from 3.5 to 7.5 million atomic mass units (amu). These long chains allow for superior load transfer along the polymer backbone, enhancing intermolecular interactions and resulting in an extremely durable material with unmatched impact resistance among thermoplastics.
UHMWPE is odorless, non-toxic, and combines all the benefits of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with added resistance to concentrated acids. It features extremely low moisture absorption, a very low coefficient of friction, and self-lubricating properties. Highly abrasion-resistant, it can outperform carbon steel by up to 15 times in certain applications.
